This stunning rear extension transformed a timber-framed family home into a spacious, contemporary living space designed for modern family life.
The project involved demolishing the existing conservatory, installing structural steelwork, creating large open-plan living areas, and completing all plumbing, electrical, insulation and underfloor heating works.

Premium finishes included bespoke glazing, a luxury kitchen and bar, large-format porcelain flooring flowing seamlessly onto the landscaped patio, Millboard decking, Western Red Cedar features, and a bespoke outdoor kitchen with pergola. Every detail was carefully considered, from matching the existing brickwork to collaborating with specialist suppliers, resulting in a beautifully crafted home that perfectly blends indoor and outdoor living - Scroll down for the full project description.

This stunning Ascot project came to us through a referral from Bronwen Gombert – Connected Architecture, together we met with the client on several occasions throughout the tender process to fully understand their vision and requirements.

Work commenced in August 2025, beginning with the demolition of the existing conservatory and patio to prepare the site for construction. As the property is a timber-framed home, it was essential to install structural steelwork to support the existing building before work could begin. New extension foundations, together with a block and beam floor system, were then installed. We also created two large structural openings to seamlessly connect the new extension with the existing home.

The project included full insulation throughout the extension, underfloor heating, screeding, complete electrical and plumbing installations. We had a close collaboration with Elysee Kitchens and Maiden Fireplaces to ensure every element was perfectly integrated.

Externally, Beards Blinds installed a bespoke pergola and two substantial awnings to the rear of the property. Due to their size and weight, these were securely fixed directly to the structural steelwork. We also installed Millboard decking and carefully matched the new face brickwork to the existing property, ensuring the extension blended seamlessly with the original home.

Inside, large-format 1200 x 1200 porcelain floor tiles were laid throughout the extension and continued outside onto the new patio, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. The patio was reinforced with steel mesh before screeding and was beautifully finished with reclaimed stone steps.

The garden features three separate decking areas finished in Limed Oak Millboard, supported by recycled plastic joists that offer exceptional durability and will never rot. The bespoke pergola was complemented with Western Red Cedar panelling, finished with Osmo Matt Oil to enhance and protect the natural timber.

The outdoor cookhouse was designed to complement the Millboard decking and features heat-resistant materials around the built-in BBQ, together with Western Red Cedar detailing to create a cohesive, high-quality finish.

Thames Valley Windows supplied and installed all of the glazing, while Lutron Blinds dressed the roof lantern and large sliding doors with made-to-measure blinds. Elysee Kitchens also designed and installed the bespoke bar area and utility room, adding the perfect finishing touches to this exceptional family home.

We are incredibly proud of the finished result. This project perfectly demonstrates how thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship and collaboration with trusted suppliers can transform a property into a beautiful and functional living space.

"Just got back from visiting Mr and Mrs X and they couldn’t stop singing your praises! It says something when a client says they’d use the same team again if they did another project and they are absolutely delighted with the finished project!

That island is a masterclass! And the quality of finishing is superb! Well done to you and the team!!"
